Winter Handicap 2018 (President's Cup) - Clive Harwood

After a very stormy night it was good to get to Hinton for the handicap race without heavy rain. Looking around it was good to see a few old timers that have run this for decades (sounds longer) mixed with our new talent. Many thanks go to Darren for coming up with such cunning handicap times. Hilary was first away and the one to catch.A lot of puffing, blowing and stretching was seen as everyone prepared for their impossible target. Sarah, Rebbeca and Stuart were in the kitchen preparing the eats and drinks.
Does not seem long that we spied Evie Sale storming up the home straight leading out her dad and James Angus. A worthy winner. Going like the perverbiable train was Steve Cousins putting it all out there. Over the line to a state of near collapse. So amusing. Not too far was Linda smiling away keeping up the pressure.   We soon had the pack come in chasing each other down.
Well done all for a good effort. The kitchen staff kept up to speed with eats and drinks. Thanks to Nick and Evie for flapjacks.
A few words of  congratulations were given in my first public duty as elected president . All packed up, cleaned up and another running club success.
See you at the club Christmas Party on Saturday.
