History of Crewkerne Running Club 1997

This year saw several notable achievements by members, 1st time Marathons, P.B's and ventures into new events. Fred, Sue and Heather have taken up hi tech. Training methods using Heart rate monitors. Sue also has a long distance coach which really seems to have paid off.

January
The first event of the year was the Axmouth 10 where 5 members took part in this very low key event. Luppit was well attended by seven brave soles. Sue organised a good night out at the Hollywood Bowl at Taunton for Ten Pin Bowling. Despite a good turn out of regular skittlers top scorer was Ken Priest. There was concern expressed about the Aston, Gordon, Cook and Strugnell pentad who broke one alley and tried to flood another.

Roy organised his usual Winsham run with damp and murky conditions. At the Stonehenge Stomp 8 members took part. The club once again picked up the team trophy.
